Sweet Home Chicago

Listen tomorrow on the POTUS Channel of XM/Sirius as I talk about the President's recent singing appearance. Here is the script from my commentary:Sweet Home Chicago
I’m John Feehery.
The President made some news the other day when he joined Mick Jagger and B.B. King in singing about his home town.
And Mr. Obama seemingly has a lot to sing about.
The stock market is back up, the economy seems to be turning around and the leading Republicans are spending most of their beating each other up and in the process giving a pass to the President.
But are things really that rosy for Mr. Obama?
Is his re-election a sure thing?
Well, there are some indications that this election isn’t over yet.
Gas prices are on the rise, and the President will get and deserve the blame when they hit 5 bucks a gallon.
The situation in the Middle East is unsettling, and Mr. Obama seems more like a spectator than a leader.
Most troubling is his poll numbers aren’t that great.
A Gallup tracking poll has Mitt Romney beating the President 50 to 46.
And in the key swing states, like Ohio, Pennsylania and Florida, Mr. Obama’s approval ratings are bad, in the mid-forties.
The President shouldn’t count his chickens before they hatch. He might be singing the blues for real this November as he packs his bags for Sweet Home Chicago.
